CHOOSING PROXIES

Daily vs monthly proxies: compare the full cost

The quick answerCompare the amount you must actually pay for the number of IPs, active days and traffic you need. A short rental can reduce commitment for occasional use. A monthly offer can be cheaper for repeated use. Match allocation and protocol before comparing the headline price.

Compare like-for-like purchase totals

For one IP, the daily-rental total is the daily price multiplied by the number of separate rental windows you need. For multiple IPs, multiply again by quantity. Compare that result with the total monthly purchase commitment, including minimum packs and mandatory charges.

With a daily price D and a comparable monthly price M, the arithmetic break-even is M / D rental windows. This is a cost comparison only; continuous availability, traffic and IP retention can differ.

Daily total = daily price × rental windows × IP quantity
Break-even windows per IP = comparable monthly price ÷ daily price

Use the current Dropstride price

At US$2.00 for one 24-hour rental, one IP across three separate paid rental windows costs three times the unit price. Ten windows cost ten times the unit price. These windows are separate purchases, subject to availability; they are not an extension of the original IP.

For illustration only, if a different monthly offer cost ten times Dropstride’s daily price per IP, its arithmetic break-even would be ten windows. This is a hypothetical example, not a competitor quote or market-pricing claim.

Match traffic, allocation and continuity

Dropstride includes 1 GB per IP per rental. The allowance is not pooled or automatically topped up. Compare this with the other provider’s actual metering and included traffic rather than treating a month of access as unlimited transfer.

Confirm whether a monthly address is dedicated or shared and whether the same public IP is retained. Dropstride does not promise the same address across separate rentals, automatic renewals, region selection, or reservations for a future drop.

Choose from your real usage pattern

A one-day task and an always-on workflow have different requirements. Count the windows you will use, estimate traffic from your actual client, and allow time for fulfillment. Dropstride provisions after payment with a 10-minute target rather than keeping a ready reservation.

A lower commitment does not guarantee retailer acceptance or a successful purchase. Confirm protocol support and the terms of both offers before choosing.
