What changes when you use a proxy?
Your client connects to a proxy endpoint instead of connecting directly to the destination. The proxy forwards the request or creates a tunnel, then relays the response. A proxy changes the network path and public exit IP; it does not change your store account, browser cookies, or the destination’s rules.
At Dropstride, the endpoint stays assigned to your order for the rental. Your client authenticates with the supplied username and password. The service supports public HTTP and HTTPS destinations on ports 80 and 443.
Datacenter, residential, and ISP labels
These labels describe where an address comes from, not a guarantee of access. Check the actual product definition with any provider.
| Label | What to check |
|---|---|
| Datacenter | An IP hosted by a datacenter or cloud provider. Check whether it is dedicated or shared. |
| Residential | An IP associated with a residential network. Check allocation, consent, rotation, and traffic limits. |
| ISP or static residential | A provider-specific description. Ask who announces the address and how it is hosted and allocated. |
What Dropstride includes
The price is US$2.00 per dedicated IPv4 for 24 hours, with 1 GB (1,000,000,000 bytes) of combined traffic. The clock starts when the complete order is ready. Each proxy stops at its own data limit or the pack’s expiry, whichever comes first.
You buy a fixed rental, with no subscription or automatic overage charge. Provisioning starts after confirmed payment and targets 10 minutes. Delivery timing and retailer acceptance are not guaranteed.
Questions to answer before buying
A short rental works best when its protocol, time window, and allowance match your task. More IPs do not solve an incompatible client or a destination that does not allow your activity.
- Does your client support username/password authenticated HTTP proxies?
- Do you need one fixed exit IP per connection, or a rotating service?
- Can the task finish within 24 hours and the 1 GB allowance per proxy?
- Do you understand the website’s rules and the seller’s final-sale terms?
